February 2010: We've done our annual major update to the site, to reflect the minor changes in New Zealand's DVD/game rental market. The main change is moving newcomer GameKingdom up above GameHog, simply because they've doubled their inventory in the past year and appear to be moving from strength to strength.

We'll continue to monitor the market and make updates as needed, but if you notice something that needs updating in the meantime, please email us.

March 2009: We've just completed a redesign of our website, widening every page from 800 to 1,000 pixels. Our tracking shows that only 3% of visitors have a monitor with under 1,000 pixels, so we felt it was a good time to upgrade. This allows us to include extras like a sidebar beside our main table with definitions for the fields in the table. We can also use some larger fonts, larger screenshots of the various sites we review, etc. and hope the site is more functional and more modern looking as a result.

We also did a major site update, checking all the sites, updating DVD, Blu-ray, and game inventory numbers by console, and generally adding new info.

February 2009: Nothing new to report this month.

January 2009: As we enter the new year, the big three DVD rental companies have completed their merger into one super company under the Fatso name with an upgraded site. Arguably, there may be little reason to continue to have a guide to one website, but we'll continue to follow the market and update the game rental market as well.

October 2008: We've added a new game rental site, GameKingdom, which boasts the largest inventory of next gen console games in New Zealand.

August 2008: Major site revamp and fact checking, updated all reviews and verified prices, packages, etc .

April 2008: Nothing new to report on the online rental scene for April Fools Day.

January 2008: No major changes to report, but we look forward to continuing our coverage of the New Zealand DVD rental industry over 2008.

November 2007: Major site update--rechecked all the sites, prices, retook screenshots, etc.

August 2007: Added a few updates to each site, mainly accounting for increased inventory sizes in each of the three main rental companies.

June 2007: We've made some tweaks to the reviews in the first two months, but nothing major.

1 April 2007: No, it's not an April Fool's trick--we launched NZ-DVD-Rental-Guide.com as a resource providing information and customer comments on the New Zealand DVD and games rental sites. We plan on making monthly updates as needed, and will note the changes in this What's New section. Please email us if you notice any discrepancies, and we'll fix them.
